FAQ

What can a breathalyzer measure?

A breathalyzer measures alcohol in a person’s breath to estimate blood alcohol concentration (BAC), commonly used for driver screening or fitness for work checks.

Standard fuel cell breathalyzers are highly accurate, similar to police grade devices, and provide more consistent readings than semiconductor sensor models, which are typically cheaper.

Generally, it should be calibrated every 6 to 12 months, or sooner if the readings become unstable or inconsistent. You can send the device to an authorized service center for calibration.

Wait at least 15 minutes after drinking so any alcohol in the mouth dissipates and the reading is more accurate.

Not recommended. Use a single use mouthpiece for each person to ensure hygiene and prevent cross contamination.

Yes. If a driver is found to have a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit (0.05% BAC), they may face legal action. It is recommended to check before driving every time.
