SAFETY MASK

Respiratory Protection

A safety mask is respiratory protective equipment designed to reduce the amount of hazardous substances inhaled to below harmful levels. It helps protect against dust and aerosols, smoke and metal fumes, and chemical gases and vapors. It is also used in work environments involving infectious agents or certain types

FAQ

What’s the difference between N95, KN95, and FFP2/FFP3?

These are regional standards with similar performance levels (N95, KN95, and FFP2 filter about 94–95% of 0.3 µm particles, while FFP3 is higher). Choose the standard that matches your job requirements.

Not enough: N95 is suitable for dust and aerosols. For chemical vapors, use a half face respirator with an organic vapor (OV) cartridge, or the cartridge set specified in the chemical’s SDS.

Quick check: Wear it correctly, shape it to the bridge of your nose, and tighten the straps. Take a few deep breaths and make sure there are no leaks around the edges. For high risk work, a standard fit test is recommended.

More comfortable to breathe, but it does not filter exhaled air, so it is not suitable for infection control. Choose a non valve model when you need to protect both the wearer and others.

Disposable masks: Replace when the mask becomes damp, dirty, harder to breathe through, or loses its shape.
Half face or full face respirators: The facepiece can be cleaned, but the cartridges or filters must be replaced based on service life or when you notice odor breakthrough or leakage.

Most masks are one size fits all, but face shapes vary. Try it on, adjust the nose clip, and check for leaks around the seal. If it still leaks, consider a different model or size.

Clean by wiping or washing according to the instructions (only for washable models), air dry thoroughly, and store in a clean pouch or box protected from dust and moisture.

Particulate respirators: NIOSH N95/N99, EN 149 (FFP1/2/3), GB 2626 (KN95)

Replaceable filter respirators: EN 140/143/14387, NIOSH (P100/OV cartridges, etc.)
